Unfathom 04:05
In a world without you I feel like giving in I’m in the drive thru For a twist of cinnamon Taking my time And I know that I’ll find you In a place without hope I’ll cope with the fear At the end of my rope A new beginning is near Taking my time Just to find what I like to do It’s been a week and a day And I still haven’t heard Just what you have to say Could you please share a word? You’re taking your time Cause you know I’ll wait for you If I gave you a chance Would you dance close to me Wearing argyle pants But your shoes are Nike Taking my time Cause I know what you gotta do Forget what you know And abandon Lose track of everything Unfathom

Fitting In (free) 04:12
You wonder if I’m here to stay But it’s so windy I’ll blow away You gaze upon my awful grin I’m just trying to fit in Nobody wants to Be seen as a monster Every minute of everyday Nobody has to See you if they pass through But that’s not what they want you to say Alone, in line for judgment day I wait until my name they say They ask about my life of sin But I was trying to fit in When I tell these white lies My heart’s shrinking in size And I know it’s getting smaller each day It’s never quite enough When I take my coat off You’ll wonder if I’m here to stay

We Think 03:43
We think you’ve got a disease Like hepatitis C It’s not a good one Like diabetes We (we) thought (thought) you (you) would care But you weren’t there We (we) know (know) you (you) want more But it’s just not fair I belong to a secret society Where we ramble on in monotony I want to be there when the whole world falls down I want to see it when everything hits the ground We think that you are the best We know you aced the test Your friends and followers know That you’re hashtag blessed Now (now) it (it) won’t (won’t) last long Trust us we’re never wrong Please (please) don’t (don’t) cry (cry) to me Thank god your skin is strong Words can’t describe quite what you mean to me So I’ll just look on You’re a flibbertigibbet Who should give up and quit it Like a frog who goes ribbit Or a loudmouth who won’t zip it If you ever want to see my face again Catch the last train going to Kazakhstan Do you think what we think? Are you one of us?

Duck Toad 03:09
Now I see catastrophe I’m running out of luck Things look bleak without a beak I want to turn into a duck Nothing comes and nothing goes We’re all stuck on this rock Travelling, a scary thing Please paddle me back to the dock Can you read my mind my friend? There’s too much to decode Don’t defend or play pretend You’re green with envy like a toad Everything must go today The shelves are overstocked Bargaining for words to sing Will neutralize my writer’s block

Pain Tonight 03:28
Pain Tonight I’m feeling Your floor Is someone’s ceiling I can’t hide When you are near I disappear The ocean floor remembers me I skipped that hopscotch class Back in January And now it goes on and on and on and on I’m alive And breathing Remind me What I’m seeing Minds collide And egos fold Out in the cold I forgot who I became It’s like my heart and soul Became estranged And not it goes on and on and on and on Who knows me better than you do? At night please refrain from practicing voodoo I wish I would never have met her Pain Tonight will tomorrow be better?

about

All General Joystick albums so far have instrumental themes, for this one the idea is a DJ set using hardware synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers (no computers). The album could be replicated live just by myself while using the equipment I used to record. All the sounds produced on this album come from the following instruments (I'm very brand loyal):
Korg MicroKorg
Korg Electribe Sampler 2
Korg Volca Bass
Korg Volca Keys
Korg Volca Beats
My Voice
